2017 Safety update
Any parents who need guidance on protective gear required for hardball cricket (U11 and above only) should speak to their respective manager.
Please be aware that there is a new British safety standard for cricket helmets (BS7928:2013 for both adults and juniors). The full list of helmets meeting this standard is available at www.ecb.co.uk/helmets. Some of these helmets (e.g. latest Mazuri and Shrey helmets can be fitted with additional protection for the back of the head.
Whenever attending matches/training please be watchful for hardballs and keep young children well back.
Promoting cricket in Lewes
Lewes Priory CC is nearly 200 years old and our mission remains to promote cricket in Lewes, especially for juniors. To achieve this important goal we seek financial support from the local community and former players in the form of additional sponsorship, donations, legacy funds from wills etc. If you are able to offer financial support please contact club treasurer Mr David Wilson on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hello & welcome
to Lewes’ oldest cricket club. Our home ground is the Stanley Turner Ground, Kingston road, Lewes – a beautiful place to play cricket. We run two Senior XI’s with local matches (Sat) and transition league (teenagers/parents) on Sun. We also run Junior teams for all age groups run by qualified coaches, with regular matches against other clubs in the local area. There are social activities for all involved throughout the year, and all in all we aim to be a fun and friendly local club where all levels are welcome.
Come and have a go... New members are always welcome, including those with no previous experience of cricket or who have not played for a long time. Please feel free to contact the relevant coach for Juniors or Seniors.
